Pages

History has too many pages
Unravelled, untravelled…

Which page do you belong to
Are you a fact known to me
Or just some bygone mystery…

Would it please you
To dust the dust off your page
To become one with memories
Once held, now forgone…

Or is it your desire
To splatter your ink
On my new pages

Leaving its mark so deep
Removable by neither dust or rain
It’s your ink which would
In my present always remain…

May it be
Conversations burning in the depths of hell
Or joyous moments spent being in love…

It will be you
Who will be my ultimate informant
Telling me which page do you want to claim
Of present or future
Or could it be of past memories
Pleasant and innocent
In which happy you would better remain….
